and right now I feel like a complete and total idiot and a sucky wife. I've lost my wedding ring... again... This time evidently, for good. The last time the ring was seen was last Friday at work. I went into the office on Monday and tore my cube apart, no joy. I came home and tore every room in the house apart, and still nothing. I don't know where else to look and I feel so stupid. I've told the hubbster about it, and although he said he wasn't mad about it, but his attitude took a nosedive for the rest of the evening. It got better, but still. I'm angry and disappointed in myself that I couldn't keep track of something so simple yet so meaningful. Yeah, I know it's only a symbol.. but it's a symbol of 10 really incredible years. Symbols like the ring can be replaced, but I want that one! The ring is uncomfortable, and my hands have been swelling a lot lately, to the point my finger turns colors. I think I took it off and left it beside my keyboard where someone took it. (No, I'm not blaming the cleaning people) I feel so weird without it. Not naked, just weird. I keep looking at my hand and the fact it's not there really bothers me. The indentation where the ring was is still there, but it's still strange.. it's like I'm divorced but he's still here.... the ring means a lot to me; you'd think I'd take better care of it :( Tags: lost ring

I'll use this for major events of the day at the war, like "arrived without trauma or drama," "really stupid hot," "raining tomcats and hoehandles," "broke my femur in the bridge battle," "garlic chicken bread bowl for lunch," "Atlantia kicked everyone's ass," "left site for beer and the 1:15 Dark Knight in Butler," and so on.
Hell, that could almost be my whole war right there. Hopefully not the femur stuff.
Oh, and PACKING IS DONE!!!!!!!

weaverrhi @ 06:42 pm: Am I wrong?
Okay... many of you know I have been buying Coluzzles like there's no tomorrow. What they are, doesn't matter.. let's call them widgets. So.. as I said, I've been buying widgets on ebay. I bid on and won two BLUE widgets with wings. What I got in the mail was two YELLOW widgets without wings. I emailed the seller and told her i didn't get what I bid on a bought. The ball was in the seller's court, and I heard nothing. I waited for two weeks and when I didn't hear anything from her, I left negative feedback. The seller emails me today (I left the feedback); and says "I'm confused.. didn't I send you something". To which I relied, yes, you sent me something; but it wasn't what I bid on and paid for. To me, there is a VAST difference between the two; and no, I'm not a happy buyer as a result.. Am I wrong to expect to receive what I pay for? Should I be happy with a "substitute" even though there's nothing in her terms that says she can substitute; and I certainly didn't agree to such an exchange after the bidding was over. I am willing to pay for the "substitution" that she sent if she'll send me the widget I actually bid on.. but I'm not sending her any more money until I get what I paid for.

colin_g @ 02:48 pm: Now that is funny...
Obama ventured forth to bring light to the worldAnd it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness. The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow. More...

Audit is over, our French customers have departed for sightseeing before they leave tomorrow evening. Could have been much, much worse. And we now have a new office gesture; in honor of our French project manager who doesn't seem to know much about anything, the Gallic Shrug. And now time to pack for Land Grab.

I have been very, very busy and i'm taking a short break before I plunge back into billing. I'm trying to get as much done as possible before I leave here at 2pm. By 3pm I hope to be on the road to land grab. I think I have an ear infection. Damn. Monday is going to be hard as hell already, so I shouldn't make it worse by dicking around on the internet. All you driving up, be safe. Current Music: Everything in its own time ~ IG

theodorad @ 12:09 pm: Sumpin' up
We are now the proud owners of a new sump pump. Wasn't planning to do that today, but the puddle in the basement persuaded us otherwise. The nice man from My plumber turned up within an hour of my call, petted the cat and fixed the us right up. Now, we don't have to worry about the basement flooding while we're gone. I should call my mother. When I was little, I used to sneak off and play in the sump pump, and she still has trauma. I suppose if you have to hose that sort of thing off a child, it makes a lasting impression. I remember trashing at least one pink romper. The micropacking is mostly done, I've managed to paint a swath of the basement floor white with gesso, and Roland's war standard is all finished. My clever plan is to go to bed, since it's midnight in my personal timeline, and wake up after Roland's loaded the truck. Wonder how this will work out for me?

When I picked up Madame Mao yesterday, she just felt wrong. Light and delicate in a way my plush kitty never did before. The call with the vet this morning was distressing, but not unexpected. She's definitely having kidney problems. So we're going to try some different food over the weekend, but we're in agreement that if she's not improved by Monday, it's time. I'm not sure whether I hope she improves or not. I don't want this drug out, but I don't want to lose her either. Bummer. Current Mood: crappy
